We recently had an Indian classical event and to all the artists we said your gift is to you get a chance to grow 50 trees each. Every single one of them were confused and surprised and were immediately curious about how this worked. Once we explained the workings of it and they received their emails, they came back and said this is probably one of the best gifts they've received in their lives. When we get married in India there’s a custom to get a sapling of bamboo for ceremonies . It’s a way of signifying growth of your family and connecting you to the earth. When I saw this initiative by my colleague I was very excited as it gives me an opportunity to give back in some way to the planet.
