Are the trees really planted?

Yes. Every tree is planted by a partner we've vetted, such as EarthLungs in Kenya and Sadhana Forest in India, and we share updates and photos from the ground. You can see each project and its partner on our projects page, and the people you gift can follow their trees online.

Can I send it instead of sympathy flowers?

Yes, many people do. The family receives a certificate with their loved one's name and a few words from you, and the trees keep growing for decades.

When does the certificate arrive?

If you're sending it to the family, we email it on the date you choose, with a copy to you. If it's just for you, it comes to your inbox.

Can it go straight to the family?

Yes. Add their name and email and we'll send it to them, with a copy to you.

What goes on the certificate?

Their name, their years, a few words in their memory, and a photo if you'd like, along with the trees planted and where.

Where are the trees planted?

You choose from 13 projects with verified planting partners in the Americas, Asia and Africa. Mangroves in Kenya are selected by default. See all projects.
