A planting day at Boulder, southern Oregon

On 7 April 2026, a crew of 16 planters went out to a site called Boulder, in the burned forests of southern Oregon, and planted 26,530 seedlings. Greenr Gifts trees from January 2026 were part of this planting, with American Forests.

The work was led by a site forester. Most of the seedlings were ponderosa pine, about 16,000 of them. The rest were white fir, western larch and Douglas fir. They went in on a grid, 12 feet apart in each direction, so each young tree has room to grow.

Two days later, on 9 April, the team photographed seedlings across the site, so the planting can be checked. The photos show young trees in bare, dark soil, between rocks and burned wood, with green shrubs already coming back around them.

Trees are bought in pooled monthly batches, so these photos show the planting our trees were part of, not any one person's tree. See the project.
