Juniper Networks, a global tech leader, recently embraced a sustainable approach to corporate gifting by partnering with us to plant trees on behalf of clients. This pilot partnership was tested at three major corporate events, and the results were overwhelmingly positive. Through this collaboration, Juniper offered tree-planting gifts as a choice along with traditional event giveaways like tshirts and goodie bags, to clients that attended their event.
How it worked
At three different events, Juniper offered attendees the opportunity to claim a tree planting gift in their name via various touchpoints such as QR codes at booths, t-shirts, and even through email links. Clients could scan the code, see details of the gift and choose to enter their name and email id to claim their gift.
This self-claim experience was convenient to distribute, as well as ensured that the client's private data such as email and names were shared only with their consent.
Results from the Ground
The pilot spanned three events, providing valuable insights into how corporate attendees respond to sustainable gifts:
100% Preference Over Goodie Bags: Of clients who were offered to have 25 trees planted in their name over receiving a traditional event goodie bag, all of them went for the tree gift, confirming that attendees valued the environmental impact over branded merchandise.
80% Preference Over T-Shirts: At another event, 20 out of 25 people preferred planting trees over receiving a branded Juniper t-shirt. The tree gift resonated as a more meaningful and lasting option, reflecting a broader trend towards environmental consciousness.
Personal Connections: One memorable moment involved a client who had recently visited Kenya and was familiar with the areas where the trees were being planted. This added a deeper, personal connection to the tree gift, creating a sense of involvement in a specific reforestation project.
What the Gift Recipients Receive
Along with contributing to reforestation, recipients of Juniper’s tree gift received a co-branded certificate, acknowledging the number of trees planted in their name. These certificates were delivered via email and could be printed upon request. Recipients also gained access to a personal dashboard, which provided updates on the number of trees planted, environmental impact metrics like CO2 sequestration, and other relevant data about the reforestation project.
Juniper Networks is not just turning to sustainability in terms of their gifting solutions, but are also looking holistically at ways in which they can cut down their carbon footprint and help heal our planet. We commend them and thank them for their initiative and valuable support.
